Homework Tips!
Have you decided to write a report on the history of irons? Well...this is the page that can really help you! You can follow a couple of different strategiesVisitor's Counter

1. The first is to go to our Iron Collectors Listing and look for either of the following:
"LOTS of excellent iron pictures!" or
"Excellent basic history of irons! (Pssst! Great for homework assignments!)"
There is a reason why those comments are there! Follow those links for some great pictures and historical comments.

2. Next you might want to also go to our page on Mrs. Potts Sad Irons and focus your paper on Mrs. Elizabeth Potts, the INVENTOR of the Potts Removable Handle Iron. The page has EXCELLENT photos and good factual content...(really just perfect for a school report). Also follow the link to the Patent Model Intellectual Property Museum page (see item #14) at Franklin Pearce College in New Hampshire. This adds credibility to your research.

If you want "just the pictures" on the page, click on the following links. That way you can print out separate color pictures, without the text content!
http://www.irons.com/potts.jpg
http://www.irons.com/pottsr.jpg
http://www.irons.com/potts2.jpg
http://www.irons.com/potts3.jpg
http://www.irons.com/potts4.jpg
These links will put just the picture on your page and you can save it on your computer or just print it.

3. Go to an article on Collecting Antique Irons for an excellent article on the history of irons in America by Carol & Jimmy Walker.

4. Go to an article on Collecting Antique Irons for an excellent article on the history of irons by Dr. Tina Brewster Wray, Curator of Collections of the Whit River Valley Museum.

All of the above pages are copyrighted and may NOT be copied. Instead, use them as an "Iron Encyclopedia" page and summarize them in your own words.

We are unable to answer individual inquiries. That's why we took the time to prepare this page for you! Good luck on your project!
